I spent the day at home yesterday - a much needed break from work. I just spent the past 12 days an hour away at our State Fair. Although I had fun, I am so happy to be home.
Blaine came home from work last night and reminded me to post on my blog. I knew I had been MIA - but didn't realize for how long. Life has been good.
In the past 2 weeks, I have taken in 7 concerts: Brooks and Dunn with Jamey Johnson, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Heart, Shinedown, Gary Allen, Kansas, Little Big Town with Candy Coburn. I had a great time at each but none was better than Brooks and Dunn. It was a sold out crowd and me, Blaine, Dad, Mom and Shania were there on the 7th row - great seats. We laughed and danced the evening away. It was a fab time anmd I was happy to be able to see them at least one more time before their upcoming split. I wonder why these two are going to call it quits after all of these years.
I have had many friends over the years either in the entertainment industry or striving to be there. And it always amazes me at the type of life that famous people lead. For a very brief time in my younger years, I had the fabulous opportunity to have some of the same experiences that the D-listers have (note: I didn't say the A-listers...).

Why have we become so obsessed with what the rich and famous are doing? I know I am in love with celebrity gossip - is that because their lives seem more exciting and more important than mine? If you think about it, I don't want THAT exciting of a life. I am content with going to work each day achieving my goals, seeing my friends on the weekends, spending quality time with my family and being my own paparazzi...not someone else invading on that - well...except for my friend Cari....but you gotta love her photo taking.
I hate to admit it but do we has people enjoy seeing others suffer so much that celebrity gossip fulfills that need too? Our society has lost all privacy - I am just excited that I am boring enough that no one cares..... I have to run now - got to see what is on TMZ.... probably more Michael Jackson.
